ViacomCBS is home to the widest scope of entertainment, with something for everyone. From broadcast to cable, across digital and social, the company is one of the largest multi-platform programmers. But what truly sets the company’s ad sales organization apart are the people who make it all happen.
“The people that are representing and selling ViacomCBS are all experts,” says Jo Ann Ross, president and chief advertising revenue officer for ViacomCBS domestic advertising sales. “They know their lanes and they know outside them, too. Without the incredible team that makes up ViacomCBS ad sales, we couldn’t sell our impressive slate of content and advertising offerings.”
We spoke to Ross about the people who are out there selling ViacomCBS, as well as the company’s iconic content and our unique and bespoke approach to ad campaigns.
Check out what Ross had to say in the video and Q&A below:
What stands out about ViacomCBS content?
JAR: We have all audiences, all ages covered, and we have premium content. We have amazing IP, and we are the experts in every single category. If you’re looking to hone in on one specialty, if you need a broad reach, we have it. We’re the real deal.
We are committed to telling diverse stories from diverse creators. We’ve invested heavily in it. We’re putting our money where our mouth is, so that we can continue to offer something for everyone.
How does ViacomCBS make buying easy for advertisers?
JAR: We keep developing new products to address digital advertising. In addition to ViacomCBS EyeQ, one of the things that makes us stand out is the people that are representing and selling ViacomCBS—they’re all experts. They know the business and have very deep relationships with our advertisers and our agencies. Anytime you have somebody coming to the table, who brings their A-game all the time, it’s easier for the other side of the table. We do that better than anybody else in the industry right now.
What’s your proudest career accomplishment?
JAR: Mentoring and watching people grow in their jobs, and being there to give advice to people that are coming into the business. We’ve all been together a long time, and it’s really great to see where people’s career paths fall after you’ve entered them.
